I final got to track this Civic down.
Even tho it was rainin 30 mins before, but I got the article done! This
Civic belongs to Drew Young. The funny thing was Drew was washin the car
in the rain when I pull'd up in the drive-way.
--------------------------------------
RR: What year is it?
Drew: ‘95
RR: What’s the motor?
Drew:’99 GSR
RR: What kind of turbo?
Drew: It’s a T3/T4
Hybrid
RR: What kind of ECU do you have?
Drew: It’s an Apex
Power FC
RR: What kind of JDM stuff do you
have?
Drew: Corner Lights,
Side Marker Lights, Lip, Valve Cover, Side Molding, Spoiler, Center Consul
TAG That’s about it.
RR: What kind of inner cooler is
that?
Drew: Vibrant
Inner-Cooler, all the inner cooler piping and down piping I built out of
2½ inch mandrel with a TiAL 38mm wastegate and an old-school Grady blow
off valve runnin 7½ pounds.
RR: What’s the estimated horsepower
to the wheels?
Drew: Somewhere
between 260 and 270.
RR: What are the wheels off of?
Drew: Those are
Rota
Slip Stream 15 by 7½ with a 205/50/15, the front has JIC Adjustable
pullovers, the back is a Tokiko strut out of a CRX with a front 2 spring
On it and the exhaust is a custom 2½ out of the back with a resonator and
a cat With a generic aluminum spun muffler. Nothing fancy.
RR: What’s the e-spec(??)
Drew: The e-spec is a
group around Lancaster and Rock Hill of street race cars. It’s Civic Body
Honda’s only.
RR: What kind of gauges do you have?
Drew: All the gauges
are AutoMeter carbon fiber. The air bag cover and center vents are Carbon
fiber. It used to house an Apex V-Tech controller, but now that I have
power FC. I don’t need it, so I’ll probably put a turbo timer there.
RR: What kind of radio, amps,
speakers do you have?
Drew: The head
units are Alpine 98-15, it’s a couple of years old, Sony 4-channel on
Imogen Highs, a directed 800 watt amp on one Alpine 12” speaker. Imogen
Highs are a cross between Boson Acoustic and Alpines.
RR: What kind of seats are those?
Drew: Red Tenzo-R
Evolutions, the regular ones there’s a Mugen steering wheel, a Custom
built short throw shifter, and a bronze Type-R shift knob.
RR: What colors is the car?
Drew: It is ‘04 SSR
Yellow
RR: Is that a TV in the.
Drew: It’s a JDM
center consul and armrest and a double den radio hole now houses a 7” wide
screen and the ashtray houses a voltmeter and the remote eyes for the
television and DVD player, but I kept the cigarette lighter. Kind of like
that, you never know when you might need it never know when the cell phone
might die. The little stuff I added the ’95 2-door coupe tweeter pods
to the doors because the hatchback didn’t come with tweeter’s in the
doors. P-1 did all the tuning.
RR: Who did all the labor work;
turbo, motor swap, odd and end stuff?
Drew: Everything so
far has been done by either me and some help from J.B., and Mikey, but
other than that it’s about 99% mine.
RR: Who made the header, manifold?
Drew: The manifold is
a I think an OBX, I’m not sure.
RR: Didn’t you make the down pipe?
Drew: Yeah I made the
down pipe all the way back to the cat, and I then made all the Inner
cooling piping. I did all the dash, gauge clusters.
RR: You got any names you call her,
him, it?
Drew: Nope
